My approach and lens to counseling is client-centered and focuses on the physical, mental, social, and emotional person as a whole. I use techniques from different evidence-based modalities including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness approaches. I value the uniqueness of each person and will work with you to figure out the best approach and plan to meet your needs.
As your counselor, I will help you in reviewing and understanding how your thoughts, feelings, behaviors and values are connected and work with you on a plan to better your current situation. I believe that everyone can use support at various times in their life because life hits us all hard sometimes. My goal is to empower individuals to feel more confident in their ability to handle life’s challenges and transitions.
Insurance: Out-of-network. Depending on your insurance, you may be able to get full or partial reimbursement for your sessions. I can provide an invoice/super bill to potentially allow for out-of-network insurance coverage or payment through an HSA/FSA. I recommend that you reach out to your insurance company to find out about its out-of-network therapy coverage policy. Colorado law prohibits non-Medicaid therapists from providing therapy to Medicaid recipients. If you have Medicaid, I am unfortunately unable to meet with you.
For questions, additional inquiries, or to set up services, email info@upstreamwellnesscounseling.com or call 720-892-0727. I offer a no-cost, 15 minute consultation call to determine if working together could be a good fit. It takes courage to reach out and I look forward to learning more about you!

QPR Training
I am a certified QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) gatekeeper instructor with experience training community members and organizations in the Denver metro area and K-12 educators. I believe passionately in this training and want to empower as many people as possible to receive this life saving information. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — 3 simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
How can businesses and organizations support this life saving work? Think of QPR like CPR training. We hope we never need to use it but what if a friend, family member, or colleagues’ words or behaviors suggest the possibility of suicide or emotional distress or they share they are having thoughts of suicide? How do we respond? QPR gatekeeper trainings can be a part of how employers can take action to to address suicide prevention. QPR is the most widely taught evidence-based suicide prevention gatekeeper training in the world with over 5 million people trained. QPR is for anyone to learn and it can be an integral part of a company’s plan for adopting suicide risk reduction strategies and training. Trainings will be customized for your location and work environment. For example, if your organization is located in Colorado, we will discuss what we are currently seeing in Colorado and relevant, local resources.
Who is this for? You! Anyone can benefit from basic gatekeeper training! We view QPR as a similar level of training to CPR. You will be certified for two years.
Method of delivery: In-person and virtual options.
Time Frame: 75-90 Minutes (can be done in 60 minutes with limited discussion).
